Friday, August 14th
A deputy was advised that delivery personnel had accidentally activated a security alarm at 209 Main in Paton and that he was no longer needed to respond to the call.
A deputy was asked to check the welfare of a dog in Churdan.
Several members of the Greene County Sheriff’s Office assisted the Guthrie County Sheriff’s Office with a vehicle pursuit into Greene County from Guthrie County. The Greene County Chief Deputy Sheriff deployed his spike strips on Highway 30 at M Avenue in an attempt to slow or stop the vehicle. The car went into the ditch on Highway 30 in front of Sparky’s One Stop in Jefferson. A Guthrie County Deputy arrested and transported the female driver back to Guthrie County. The Jefferson Police Department along with other Law Enforcement agencies also assisted.
Saturday, August 15th
A deputy located a reported stray dog running at large in Rippey and transported it to the animal shelter in Jefferson.
A deputy assisted the Iowa State Patrol with a traffic stop and the subsequent arrest of Matthew David Blair 37, of Scranton on an outstanding warrant from Carroll County.
A deputy investigated criminal mischief to a mail box in the 1100 block of State Street in Scranton. The operator of a 4-wheel ATV admitted to accidentally striking the mailbox and would pay for a new mailbox.
A deputy was dispatched to a reported single vehicle roll-over accident that occurred on S Avenue near 110th Street. A 2005 Chevrolet Impala that was being driven by Laura Elizabeth Kopecky 52, of Farnhamville, was southbound on P 33 when she lost control of her vehicle and it entered the east ditch, rolling once. Laura Kopecky was not injured but her car was estimated to be a total loss.
A deputy was out of position and unable to locate a reported erratic and careless driver on Highway 144 near Rippey.
Sunday, August 16th
A deputy was dispatched for the report of a suspicious male subject walking in the area of the 400 block of East Hager Street in Grand Junction. The male was not located at that time.
A deputy and the Chief Deputy Sheriff were asked to check the welfare of a male subject in the 300 block of 150th street.
A deputy was dispatched to the 800 block of Percival Street in Grand Junction to investigate a reported domestic assault. After an investigation the deputy arrested Omar Felon Estrada 29, of Grand Junction, for Domestic Abuse Assault – Serious.
A deputy is investigating a reported domestic assault that occurred in 900 block of Linn Street in Scranton.
A deputy was dispatched to the Casey’s General Store in Grand Junction to investigate a gas drive off. The driver of the vehicle was determined and the deputy will be calling to advise her to return and pay the bill.
In all cases when a defendant has been charged, this is merely an accusation, and all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
