Greene County head volleyball coach Donna Carhill continues the process of finding players on the varsity level after 11 of last season’s 12 person varsity squad graduated. The lone varsity returning player is junior Nadia Fisher, an outside hitter. The coach talked with Raccoon Valley Radio about setter candidates. “On all three levels we’ll probably play a 5-1 with one setter. Hannah Promes has the best chance of being in that position right now, although she’s still coming back from an injury. We’re also looking at Samantha Hardaway as being a setter, and we moved her from a hitter to a setter position. She’d done some camp work, but we’re still training her. It looks like Gina Brown will be our setter on the freshman level, and there may be a few others, but those are the ones we know of for sure right now.”

The Rams open the varsity schedule on Saturday, Sept. 5 in Lake City at the South Central Calhoun Tournament.
