Those who would like to vote early for next month’s school board elections can do so in Greene County.
The County Auditor’s office has absentee ballots available and anyone may stop by during regular office hours Monday through Friday from 8am to 4:30pm. Absentee ballots will be accepted until 11am the day of the election on September 8th.
There are no contested races for either Greene County or Paton-Churdan school districts. Greene County has two at-large seats available and incumbent Ashley Johnston and newcomer John McConnell are running, current board member Jeff Lamoureux is not seeking reelection. Paton-Churdan has three seats available with John McCormick and incumbent Jennifer Maach in the running. The third seat will be filled by a write-in candidate.
Voters in Jefferson, Scranton, Grand Junction and Rippey will be asked to vote on a $20 million bond issue as well.
An absentee ballot can be mailed to a residence, but a request for the ballot must be filled out at the Auditor’s office.
