With the Lincoln Highway Buy-Way Garage Sale continuing through Saturday and the Antique Tractor Ride this weekend, there will be more travelers on the road in Greene County.
Sheriff Steve Haupert reminds everyone to be aware of slow-moving tractors during the tractor ride on Saturday which travels to the southern part of the County from the fairgrounds in Jefferson.
“Remember the older tractors (go) 12 to 14 miles-per-hour tops. So, be cautious when approaching those older tractors, as well as any implement this time of year.”
The Lincoln Highway Buy-Way Garage Sale started on Thursday and ends tomorrow. Haupert wants to make sure everyone stays alert in case vehicles turn off of the highway.
“There may be people traveling through on (Highway) 30 that don’t know that it’s happening and all of a sudden, they may be making a right turn onto the shoulder. So, everyone be cautious and try to hold the speed down a little bit.”
He urges everyone to exercise patience, while on the road, this weekend with so many events happening throughout the County.
