The Jefferson Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #9599 recently finished repairing the roof of its building.

Post Commander Don Ihnken says the roof was one of the final renovations they needed to do.  The project began in 2013, after black mold was discovered in the basement.  Through donations and several fundraisers, most of the interior of the building was renovated.  The cost to repair the leaky roof was over $5,000.  Finishing touches are being done to the main floor and the meeting room.

Ihnken wants to thank everyone for their support in helping them complete their extensive project.  The VFW, VFW Auxiliary and the local American Legion will be hosting another fundraiser this Thursday during Hot August Night.  They will be serving walking tacos with lemonade, tea or water for a free will donation from 4 to 6:30pm.  Ihnken adds that the proceeds will go toward helping other organizations and projects in Greene County.
