A benefit will take place at Greenfield Lake this weekend for Braydon Crees, a two year old with a rare brain disorder. Braydon’s mother, Megan, says her son was born with HPE (Holoprosencephaly), in which his brain never separated into two separate hemispheres in the womb. The disease is rare, affecting one in every 20,000 births and Crees says Saturday’s event will raise money and awareness in fighting HPE nationwide, while also helping to pay some of Braydon’s medical bills. “We are hoping to raise $5,000. We would donate $2,500 to the organization Families for HoPE, they do a lot of awareness for families with children or family members that are affected by this brain disorder.”
Crees will tell us more about Braydon’s Hope Walk today on Let’s Talk Guthrie County. It airs during the 9 a.m., noon and 5 p.m. hours on K107.9 and www.raccoonvalleyradio.com
