The Guthrie Center City Council met Monday. They voted unanimously to allow Public Works Director Bob Secoy to purchase a used plow truck from the Iowa Department of Transportation for approximately $14,000. Additionally, the Council reviewed all submitted applications for the compliance officer position and they will hold interviews on Monday, August 17th. Finally, the Council discussed the recently closed redemption center and Mayor Denny Kunkle says he will reach out to the other mayors in Guthrie County to try and formulate a plan to get the redemption center reopened.
