Among the construction projects this summer at the Greene County School District is the renovation of the baseball diamond, Allensworth Field. Activities Director Dean Lansman tells Raccoon Valley Radio the project is moving right along. “The infield looks like it’s already lazered and graded. They’re starting to fill in the base paths and infield with the under laying dirt. Things are moving along, but they still have the tile and irrigation system to do in the outfield, along with putting down the sod. They told us when they first started that if we played any Fall ball, it would actually be playable on October 1st.”

The baseball field renovation, plus new bleachers at Allensworth Field in time for the upcoming football season are the two big projects related to activities this summer.
