Among the summer 2015 construction projects for the Greene County school district was a bleacher project at Linduska Field in Jefferson. The new bleachers are in and ready to go, Activities Director Dean Lansman told Raccoon Valley Radio. “Well, it really looks a lot different. They”ll seat more people on the home side, around 1,400. There are two nice ramps on the north and south sides that are handicap accessible, and there’s handicap accessible seating right in the front row. Also, there’s actually a corridor that runs underneath the bleachers so you can go up through to the center to a set of steps, and all those entrances make it a lot easier getting in and out of the bleachers.”
Coach Lansman added additional concrete walkways have been poured to allow easier access to concession and bathroom facilities. Also, picnic tables have been put in place on top of concrete padding to allow people to sit outside of the bleachers.
The Rams host Panorama (Panora) in a football sports drink scrimmage on Aug. 21 in one of the first official events where the bleachers will be used by the public.
