Last week, the Raccoon Valley Radio Network informed you that Phase 1 of the new Perry Soccer Complex is currently underway with bids being actively received for groundbreaking and initial construction.
Today, McCreary Center Director John Anderson takes a broader look into the future and explains what the city is hoping for when glancing at the long term picture.
“In the end, we will hopefully have 3 adult soccer fields along with 1 JV soccer field. There will be ample parking and a nice walking trail that will effectively circle around the complex. The sport is becoming a dominant one in the country and we certainly want to make this new complex a focal point in the community. We want Perry to be on the leading edge of this national trend and present the citizens with ample opportunities to get out and enjoy the sport.”
The Rec Center is hoping that dirt will start to be moved as soon as this fall at the designated area at Pattee Park on the initial construction of the first adult soccer field. Tomorrow, the Raccoon Valley Radio Network will look into the ways that the city is planning on utilizing the new complex.
