Monday marks the first day of official football practice for the ADM Tigers, and the next two weeks figure to provide plenty of intrigue as a large number of starting positions are up for grabs on both sides of the ball.
As a team on the “Week 1” preseason schedule, no contact is permitted during the first two days of practice on Monday and Tuesday, and a maximum of four hours of coach/athlete contact and three hours of physical activity is permitted by the Iowa High School Athletic Association.
Players will be allowed to hit above the waist Wednesday through Friday and will then be cut lose on Saturday, the first day when full contact is allowed.

As for the how ADM’s starting lineup might look come kickoff against Perry August 28, sixth-year defensive coordinator Bric Nelson said he’s excited about breaking in a number of new starters on defense, and characterized it as a growing process that can bring with it many positives.
“Well the best way to do that is you go for you depth,” Nelson said. “One of the positive experience you’ll have from it is every school faces it. Every school is going to always lose a kid that you think is going to be hard to replace. We’ve been blessed at ADM with the next guy in, next guy stepping up and taking care of business when his number’s called.”
