The senior class will be expected to carry a lot of the load on the football field this season for the Greene County Rams. Included in that group is Max Neese, a three-year varsity player, who is expected to play running back, defensive back, and be a return man on special teams. Neese told Raccoon Valley Radio about his role as a senior. “You have to step up and be a leader and show the younger kids. You kind of have to teach them and show them what to do and lead by action. Not so much by words, but by action.”

Neese said he’s not a big talker when it comes to being a leader. “I’m not really the guy that will go out and talk. I’d rather keep to myself, and let my play do the speaking is what I like to say.”

The Rams begin official practice on Monday, August 10 after wrapping up four days of camp on Wednesday of this week. Greene County will host Panorama (Panora) in a scrimmage on Aug. 21, then open the regular season on Friday, Aug. 28 in Lake City vs. South Central Calhoun.
