Back to school shopping season is in full swing and this weekend is the only time all year Iowans can save some money in form of not having to pay sales tax on clothes and other items.
Today and Saturday, clothing and footwear with a price under $100 per item, can be purchased without the added sales tax.
Perry Chamber Executive Director Bob Wilson says it’s another great opportunity to shop local and think Perry first.
“Get out there and put your money in the local merchants please, they’re the ones that give back in supporting all the programs in the schools, and softball, and little league, and everything else. So it should be a fun and exciting weekend.”
