Early registration for Pedaler’s Jamboree ends today.

The Pedaler’s Jamboree is a two-day musical event on the Raccoon River Valley Trail on September 5th and 6th.  Greene County Conservation Director Dan Towers says a variety of bands will be playing at each of the 15 towns on the north and south loop of the trail, with an overnight stop in Jefferson.  With each stop, there will also be a beer garden and food vendors.

He notes that you don’t have to bike on the trail to enjoy both days of musical entertainment.

“We are promoting that we would like to see a fair number of local people show up too.  Just like RAGBRAI, we see a lot of local people show up for the RAGBRAI overnight band and that.  So we’re hoping that we get a turnout from that part of the crowd too.”

The event starts in Waukee and will head up on the north loop on Saturday and back down the south loop on Sunday.  Towers says there will be two stops in Greene County, at Cooper and Jefferson on Saturday.  The entertainment in Cooper will feature Molly Gene One Whoaman Band from 3:30 to 4:45pm.  She’s from Missouri and plays everything from blues to heavy metal music.  The headliner, that will be on the square in Jefferson, is EUFORQUESTRA starting at 9:45pm.  They got their start in Iowa City and are now on the west coast.  Other bands in Jefferson include That 1 Guy and Dirtfoot.

Early registrations are $45 for adults and $20 for youth ages 16 and younger.  Towers adds that you will receive a wristband for admission to all entertainment and beer gardens, plus overnight camping in Jefferson.  After today’s deadline, registrations will be $60 for adults and $25 for youth.
