With the first day of school just over two weeks away, several fall sports practices at ADM will begin in earnest on Monday, including football, cross country and volleyball.
The volleyball Tigers enter the season coming off yet another playoff run that ended with a hard-fought, five-set loss to eventual state-runners up Lewis Central. It may be difficult to replicate that sort of success this season because of a large swath of graduated seniors ADM lost.
Gone from last year’s squad are Abby Merschman, Maddie Mikkelsen, Kenzi Sutton Marissa Felt and Kari Dufoe, all key contributors in the starting lineup who were named all-conference.
Head coach Mary Beth Scott will turn to the likes of junior Sydney Bertman, seniors Brennan Hook and Tania Teleford, and sophomore Jordan Hook for leadership as players that all saw significant floor time last season.
ADM volleyball opens the season with a four-team invitational against Carlisle, Dowling Catholic and host Newton on Tuesday, August 25.
