Jake Sloss struck out 12 over seven shutout innings to lead ADM past Chariton, 3-1, Tuesday night in Adel, giving the Tigers their first back-to-back wins since the opening two games of the season.

Sloss surrendered just one unearned run on three hits while walking two, while fellow senior Logan Lemke provided the bulk of the run support, going 2-for-3 with a double and two driven in.

Joe Sloss lead off the bottom of the first with a walk and scored three batters later on Lemke’s RBI single to left, staking ADM to a 1-0 lead.

In the third, Colin Gavin reached on a one-out error and scored two batters later on Lemke’s run-scoring double.

After Chariton got its lone run off Jake Sloss via error in the top of the fourth, Jack O’Brien lead off the bottom half with a single and reached third via a wild pitch and passed ball, and was subsequently knocked in by Elijah McCartney for a 3-1 Tigers lead.

ADM (9-18) will take Wednesday off before returning to play on Thursday for senior night in Adel against Van Meter.
