Greene County High School baseball players Riah Nelsen and Daric Whipple have been named to the Iowa Baseball Coaches Association Class 3A first All-District team for western Iowa. A total of 16 players were voted onto the first unit and another 16 were named to the second team.

Nelsen is a senior who went 7-1 on the pitching mound during the regular season with an earned run average of 0.76 runs per game. He had 72 strikeouts and 22 walks during 46 regular season innings. Nelsen batted .430 for the 19-11 Rams, and he had a home run, seven doubles, two triples, and drove in 20 runs. Nelsen played second base when not on the mound.

Whipple, a junior, played center field and was the lead off batter. He led the team with a .440 batting average. Whipple had one homer, 18 RBI, a triple, and eight doubles. He also was successful on 38 of 40 stolen base attempts.
