The progression in talent and performance from last season to this season, gives encouragement for the Guthrie Center High School baseball team in looking towards next year. Last year, the Tigers won just 10 games. This year, they won 15. Their offense this year was supercharged as well. Last year, they scored 112 runs in 30 games. This year they scored 169 runs in 30 games. The only glitch on the radar is on the defensive end of the ball. In 2014, the Tigers gave up 177 runs and had a team earned run average of 4.11. This year, they gave up 2 more runs but their era jumped half a point to 4.61. The team is losing six seniors to graduation; Tom Brooks, Jared Berger, Lane Rumelhart, Cody Hix, Cale Crowder and Tom Herron.
