Those who want to run for Greene County and Paton-Churdan school boards are running out of time to submit their nomination forms.

Forms are available at the Greene County Auditor’s office or at each school district’s secretary office.  Deadline to submit nomination forms are by tomorrow at 5pm to the school secretary office.

The Greene County School Board has two of its seven seats up for election.  The seats are currently held by Jeff Lamoureux and Ashley Johnston.  The Paton-Churdan School Board has three of its five seats available.  Jennifer Maach, Steve Burrell and Troy Paup currently hold those seats.  All are at-large positions and are four-year terms.  Maach is filling a vacancy, due to the resignation of Libby Towers.  The candidate to fill that seat will serve the remainder of the term.

Potential candidates running for Greene County must have at least 50 signatures and for Paton-Churdan its ten signatures, to be on the ballot.

School Board elections will be on Tuesday, September 8th and the polls will be open from noon to 8pm.
