Those who are considering a run for an open school board position during this fall’s election are running out of time to get their name on the ballot.
All candidate filing papers need to be submitted to their respective school secretaries by 5pm this Thursday.
The bi-annual school elections will take place on Tuesday, September 8th.
There are three at-large positions available in both the Perry and Adel De Soto Minburn school districts this year, along with two in Van Meter, three in Waukee, four for West Central Valley and three in Woodward-Granger.
To be eligible for election, candidates need to be a citizen of the United States and resident of Iowa, at least 18 years-old, not a convicted felon and not currently judged incompetent to vote by a court.
The polls will be open from 7am to 8pm on election day.
