After nearly doubling their win total from 2014 to 2015, the Guthrie Center baseball team has a lot to look forward to for next year. Coach Rod Rumelhart says despite loosing a few key seniors, he likes how his team is looking for 2016. “There’s some guys that are ready to step in after playing predominantly JV. We’ve got about four or five juniors that will step in. We’ve got a handful of starting sophomores as well. And everyone will grow and their arms will get stronger.”

Guthrie Center finished the season with an even record of 15-15, falling to Van Meter in the semifinals of the Class 1-A District 13 playoffs.
