Earlier this week, Guthrie County Extension held their annual 4-H static judging day. The event awards medals to participants of numerous ages and in many non-livestock related categories. 11 year old James Hodges, of Coon Rapids, says a lot of work went into his painting of President Abraham Lincoln, entered into the Visual Arts category. “First I divided the canvas up into 16 grids with a pencil, then I drew every square of his body in the background and then I painted over it.”
Hodges received a blue ribbon for his impressive work. It, and the projects of all other Guthrie County 4-Hers, will be on display at the County Fair September 3rd-7th.
