The Adair County Fair begins this evening. A free barbecue supper at 6 p.m. and fair queen coronation at 8 p.m. will kick off the major events at the Greenfield fairgrounds. Fair Board Secretary Brenda Meisenheimer says organizers have been planning the fair since last year. “The planning for our entertainment actually begins in December at our Association of Iowa Fairs Conference. They start looking for entertainment, and booking. Throughout the year, there’s always something going on.”
