The West Central Valley baseball team will be a major underdog when they host Des Moines Christian in round two of the Class 2A District 12 baseball tournament this evening. The Wildcats fell to Des Moines Christian 17-2 in both of their regular season meetings. West Central Valley features  a team batting average of .220, bolstered by an on base percentage of .309. Their earned run average is a 5.06, weighted down heavily by the .14 ERA of ace Bryce Kearns. Des Moines Christian is excellent on offense and defense, posting an above .300 team batting average at .315 and a sub 3.00 team era, at 2.99. If Bryce Kearns is on the mound all 7 innings for the Wildcats, they always have a shot to win. First pitch scheduled for 7 p.m. at West Central Valley High School.
