The 2015 Greene County Fair ended on Monday.

A highlight for the end of the fair is the Junior Premium Auction.  It allows every 4-H and FFA’er an opportunity to be recognized for their work.  This year’s auction included 145 youth and raised $22,350.  Fair Board President Josh Hedges says lots of people came out to the fair and he’s excited to see how each kid progresses each year with their projects.

Abby Badger was crowned as this year’s fair queen.  She talks about what this means to her to represent the County.

“I just want to show everyone what Greene County has to offer, with 4-H or without 4-H.  And just show that anyone can do this and everyone can be whatever they want to be.”

Other results from the county fair include 28 4-H and FFA static exhibits being selected for the Iowa State Fair, high school junior Wade Wuebker was named master showmanship champion for the second annual round robin showmanship show and two Share the Fun talent acts were chosen to compete at the State Fair.

Next year’s fair is slated for July 12th through the 18th.
