The Jefferson Police Department is asking for the public’s help with information regarding a hit and run accident on Thursday.

Captain Mark Clouse says the crash happened in the 100 block of East McKinley Street around 8:32am Thursday.

Jefferson resident Susan Forkner was heading east when a vehicle came out of a north alley and hit her 2013 Chevrolet Impala on the back passenger side, spinning the vehicle 360 degrees.  The driver of other vehicle fled from the scene.  Witnesses told police that the vehicle that caused the hit and run was a late model Jeep Grand Cherokee, possibly green in color.

The Impala sustained heavy rear end damage and Forkner was taken to Greene County Medical Center, by a private vehicle, with possible injuries.

Anyone who has information about the vehicle that left the scene, is asked to call the Law Enforcement Center at 515-386-2136.
