Kasey LaneKasey Lane will join three other candidates vying for this year’s Greene County Fair Queen crown.

Kasey is the daughter of Mark and Jen Miller of Churdan.  She will be a senior at Paton-Churdan High School this fall and is involved with basketball, Greene County Young Leaders, 4-H and FFA.

Lane recently completed her second year with FFA and says her favorite part is educating fourth graders about agriculture and farming with the Ag on the Farm Day at Tim and Vicky Robbins’ farm.  She is also with the Cedar Highland 4-H group and has been in 4-H since fourth grade.  She explains why she wants to be the next Greene County Fair Queen.

“I really wanted to support Paton (and) Churdan in this because they didn’t have any candidates from Paton (or) Churdan and there weren’t any girls that could.  So I thought I might as well support P-C.”

She has received several blue and purple ribbons for her photography exhibits along with showing calves and steers at past County and State fairs.  This year, she in entering two heavyweight steers for livestock at the county fair.

The public is invited to see who is crowned this year fair queen at the coronation ceremony tonight at 6:30pm at Clover Hall on the fairgrounds in Jefferson.
