The final days of the 2015 Greene County Fair offer several events for everyone.
Sunday’s festivities start at 11am with livestock judging and registrations for the tug-of-war at the showring, followed by the livestock judging contest at noon. From noon to 4pm, the commercial exhibits, open class art hall and Clover Hall will be open to the public. The afternoon festivities include the round robin showmanship show at the showring. Abby Badger was last year’s champion and describes how she liked the inaugural event in 2014.
“It was like fun and exciting. It was definitely a different (kind of) fun and just a different take on showmanship because I’ve never shown like a sheep or horses before. So it was like fun to get out of my comfort zone and try them.”
Other afternoon activities are the tug-of-war at 3pm at the showring along with Monster Arm Wrestling at 3pm at the bus barn. Exhibit check-outs are at 4pm and livestock check-outs are at 5:30pm. The evening includes grandstand entertainment with the Grand River Rodeo at 7pm, followed by a youth dance from 8 to 10:30pm.
The final day is Monday which includes the Greene County Chamber Ag Appreciation Breakfast from 7 to 8:30am and the fair wraps up with the Junior Fair Premium Auction.
