Greene County completes the softball regular season tonight with a make up game againt Nevada vs. the Cubs. The action was originally scheduled for Nevada, but Greene County Activities Director Dean Lansman informed Raccoon Valley Radio the site has been switched to the City Diamond on East Lincolnway in Jefferson.

The Rams are Heart of Iowa Activities Conference champions at 16-1 in the conference and 26-6 overall, and have been highly rated all season by the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union. Nevada has struggled in softball for the last several years, but has played better as of late and is 10-15, one of their better records in recent seasons. The Rams were nearly upset by the Cubs in the 2014 regular season finale and only a dropped fly ball with two outs in the bottom of the seventh inning allowed Greene County to prevail. The Rams went on to finish third in the Class 3A State Tournament.

The postseason begins on Wednesday, July 8 for Coach Tom Kennedy’s team at 7 p.m. vs. Pocahontas Area at the City Diamond on East Lincolnway in Jefferson. Coverage on KG98 will begin at 6:30 p.m.
