The Perry baseball and softball teams will try to get back on the rain soaked diamond today when they host Boone in Raccoon River Conference action. The Torreador baseball team is currently 4-3 in RRC play after leading the conference for the first half of the season. The Torreadors have dropped their last 2 conference games and will look to get back on track against a Perry team that has lost 2 in a row. Perry is currently 4-3 in the conference but lost to Boone in the first meeting 15-5.
The Perry Jayette softball team will hook up with Boone for the second time this season as well, and it won’t be the final time the two squads face one another. Boone defeated Perry 7-2 back in early June and the two teams will square off in the first round of next month’s 4A Regionals. The Perry softball team will host “Strike Out Cancer” tonight during the game. The same activities planned for last night will take place this evening. Shawn Kenney will have the play by play on both KDLS 1310 am and 99.7 fm.
