Nearing the midway part of a high school baseball season, teams sometimes need a break as a way to rest pitching arms and heal a bit from the grind of playing a lot of games in a short period of time. That’s just what Coach Mark Sawhill’s Rams had late last week with rain outs June 11 and 12, and nothing scheduled for June 13. As a result, the arms are fresh and the team is ready to get back on the diamond tonight in Prairie City vs. PCM.

The Rams won the first meeting between the two Heart of Iowa Activities Conference rivals by a 10-0 score by the 10-run rule in six innings on a Riah Nelsen no-hitter on May 28. The Rams are 5-3 in the conference and 7-5 overall while the Mustangs have found victories tough to come by.
