A flood warning remains in effect for portions of Dallas County.
According to the National Weather Service, the North Raccoon River near Perry is under a warning until early Tuesday morning.
The affected area stretches between the Greene and Dallas County line to Adel.
According to the U.S. Army Corp of Engineer’s river gauges, as of 6am Sunday the North Raccoon River near Jefferson has increased .18 feet in the past 24 hours, to 12.79 feet, or less than 6.5 feet under flood stage. Near Perry, the North Raccoon River level is currently at 15.4 feet or .4 feet above flood stage.
Additionally, the Buttrick Creek near Grand Junction has gone down 1.42 feet and is currently at 22.26 feet, or just over 10 feet above flood stage.
Meanwhile, the Middle Raccoon River near Bayard decreased 1.42 feet in the past 24 hours and was last reported at 15.06 feet, or just over 1 foot above flood stage. The Middle Raccoon near Panora is currently 5.5 feet below flood stage and the South Raccoon at Redfield is almost 13 feet below its 20 foot flood stage level.
The National Weather Service says minor flooding is currently happening in Dallas County. Experts expect the river to rise to 15.5 feet above the flood stage by this morning and return to its flood stage by of 15 feet by Monday morning.
The primary area expected to be impacted by this flooding is farm fields and the Perry Wastewater Treatment Plant. Near Adel, the Dallas County Fairgrounds and the golf course are affected along with Sportsman Club Road and Midland Trail.
