There are more activities going on at the Jefferson Parks and Recreation Department this month.
Director Vicky Lautner says that the first session of swimming lessons will be from June 8th through the 11th and June 15th through the 18th. Classes will be offered to Jefferson residents from 10 to 10:35am and for Scranton, Paton and Churdan residents, it will be from 10:45 to 11:20am. The sessions are for anyone that can touch the bottom of the three-foot depth area of the Jefferson Municipal Pool. The cost to participate is $20 and space is limited. She adds that a class will be offered for all six levels of swimmers ranging from just getting comfortable with being in a pool to the skilled swimmers.
For the adults, Lautner notes that they are accepting registrations for a co-ed softball league. Games will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays at the Jefferson Softball Complex from June 23rd through August 6th. There is a $200 per team fee and the deadline to sign up is by June 18th.
The second session of Zumba will be offered from June 8th through July 3rd at various times throughout the week. Prices range from $40 to $60 per week.
