The Better Choices, Better Health program is designed for those who have symptoms of chronic diseases make healthier choices to better manage their disease.  Director of Chronic Disease Management Denise Promes says 80 percent of healthcare is done in the home or out of the healthcare facility and they want to give participants tools to help them stay healthy.

“We give them a toolbox and in that toolbox there’s several different things that they can use, like relaxation techniques maybe one, exercise, better nutrition, stress management.  There’s several different tools.”

She comments that everyone should give this program a try.

“So we just ask that they try each tool for about two weeks, just to give it a good chance to work for them.  And then just use the ones that work for them to help them manage their disease.”

The six-week program will be on Mondays starting June 8th through July 13th from 1:30 to 3:30pm at the Greene County Community Center in Jefferson.

The program is free and open to the public.
