The Greene County Farmer’s Market kicked off on Tuesday for the 2015 season.

There were 12 that featured produce, baked goods and handcrafted items.

Coordinator Chris Henning says youth can also get involved with the farmer’s market.

“We have a special rate for kids under the age of 18 to have a booth.  We’re assuming that they are producing their own garden, or their own baked goods or even crafts.  And that they will man the booth themselves.”

Adult vendor prices are $120 for a seasonal pass or $20 per week.  The same $20 fee is for any organization that wishes to serve a meal as a fundraiser.  Youth will receive a reduced rate.  Those that want to be a vendor, may call Henning at 515-370-2436.

The farmer’s market is every Tuesday from 4-6:30pm through September 29th on the eastside of the courthouse in Jefferson.
