An event at Greenfield Lake this weekend will correlate with the Iowa Department of Natural Resource’s (DNR) annual free fishing weekend, which allows Iowa residents to fish without a license from Friday June 5th-Sunday June 7th. Adair County Conservation Director Kevin Blazek says the DNR will be present at their Saturday event. “We’ll have DNR fisheries personnel there to help with fish identification. They’ll do a little program first thing in the morning. They’ll teach people where to find the find fish on the lake, what sorts of habitats they thrive in, and which tackle to use to catch each specific kind of fish.”
Saturday’s event from 8 a.m.-noon at Greenfield Lake will have some kid’s themed activities but anyone is welcome to come and enjoy the fishing.
