The ADM boys golf team shot an impressively low 150 Tuesday afternoon at the Lincoln Valley Golf Course in State Center to beat Nevada and West Marshall.

Tigers head coach Chris Goodale said he believed it was the lowest total any team has shot in his 25 years running the program, but added his golfers are staying hungry.

“We’re headed in the right direction. We’re shooting pretty well,” Goodale said. “Last week Gilbert beat us by four strokes in 18 holes and Gilbert’s one of the best teams in the state. The boys are really confident; they know that they can shoot better. I mean, they’ve told me that, I haven’t solicited it from them. They said, ‘Well, we really haven’t all shot it great yet,’ and I said, ‘Well, I can’t wait, because it sounds pretty good to me.'”

Nevada finished second with a 160, and West Marshall shot a 191. ADM senior Joe Vest tied with Nevada’s Zach Hansen as medalist, shooting a 36. The Tigers remaining scorers were Ben Sandquist (37), Jacob Schmuaker (38) and Brody Boston (39).

Freshman Tyler Whyle shot a 44 and Ethan Herron a 46.

ADM starts winding down the regular season soon with only three meets remaining. Next up is a dual Thursday afternoon against Perry at the River Valley Golf Course just north of Adel.
