As the avian flu prepares to cause the destruction of nearly one million birds at Rose Acres’ Stuart egg farm, State Representative Clel Baudler is frustrated that experts have not been able to slow the spread of the disease. He says some of the state’s brightest minds have been unable to stop the deaths of millions of birds. “We have no idea. No firm idea how it’s being spread. To me, that’s unacceptable. We’re walking on the moon, and we’re sending Rovers to Mars, but we don’t know how this thing is spread.”
Baudler will be our guest today on Let’s Talk Guthrie County to talk about a recent conference call he had with leaders from the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Iowa Department of Natural Resources about the spread of Avian flu.
