The Perry baseball team will officially open up the new season tonight at Progressive Field when they host North Polk in a 7:15 game.  Perry is coming off a 23-7 season a year ago along with a Raccoon River Conference championship mark of 10-4.  The goals of the regular season were short lived as Perry suffered a stunning first round playoff loss to Bondurant Farrar.

Optimism is high despite losing 7 seniors to graduation.  Perry returns a strong nucleus with the battery of Will Whiton and Zach Roberts.  Both enter the season as Iowa Prep Pre Season All Staters.  Nic Wilhelmi, Blake Lansing, Kade Van Kirk and Adan Medina will provide plenty of offensive options.

Janier Puente and Kyle Nevitt will be looked upon to provide innings for Perry this season as well.
