dallas county sheriffThe Dallas County Sheriff’s Office will be raising money for Special Olympics Iowa next month with their seventh annual All Wheel Show.

Sheriff Chad Leonard says he came up with the idea several years ago while at a car show and decided to incorporate other vehicles, such as motorcycles and tractors to make this one a little different.  He says law enforcement agencies across the state do various things to help Special Olympics, which is a cause he really believes in.

“You know, it’s just the personal feeling of helping these kids out.  I go to a lot of Special Olympics functions and you can have a bad day, but you’ll walk out of there feeling really good that day.”

Awards will be given to the Best of Show, Most Likely to be Stopped by a Cop, Bad Bike, Long Distance and the Special Olympics Athlete Choice.

The event takes place on Saturday, June 6th on the square in Adel starting with registration at 10am and awards being handed out at 2:30pm.  The Raccoon Valley Radio “Big Red Radio” will be there broadcasting live throughout the show.

Day of registration is $15 per vehicle and you can download a form through the link in this story on our website.
