The Greene County Middle School band provided music and entertainment today on the downtown square in Jefferson.
The annual Breakfast with the Band has been a long standing tradition with Bunker’s Dunkers, a local bakery, who sponsors the event. 7th and 8th grade students march around the square and play a couple of songs as a way to celebrate the end of another school year. The students were then treated to free doughnut holes from the bakery.
Band director Hanna Sundberg took over for long-time teacher Marty Brennan, who retired last year. She says she is thrilled to carry on a tradition like Breakfast with the Band along with all the other activities and events the students have done in the past. Sundberg says it’s been a smooth transition for her to step into such a strong program. She also thanks retiring high school director Becky Greiner for being a great mentor.
