Several Greene County students will be competing at the State Track Meet starting tomorrow at Drake University in Des Moines.

Greene County School District qualified 15 events and Paton-Churdan qualified two events.  Altogether, there will be 19 students competing in Class 1A and Class 3A events.  Greene County has six field event qualifiers and ten track event qualifiers along with Paton-Churdan’s two track events.

Greene County has seven events going tomorrow, which includes girls and boys discus, girls high jump, preliminaries for girls and boys shuttle hurdle relays and preliminaries for girls and boys 200-meter dash.    Paton-Churdan’s one qualifier, Jake Carey, will be running in the 400-meter dash tomorrow in Class 1A.  In order to qualify for the finals, the eight fastest times are taken from all the heats in the preliminary round.

9 a.m. Girls discus (F)- Hannah Onken, Greene County

9: 20 a.m. Girls shuttle hurdle relay (P)-Greene County (Mollie Sorber, Nadia Fisher, Sarah Sandage, Eme Johnson)

11:30 a.m. Boys discus- Alex Rasmussen, Greene County

11:30 a.m. Girls high jump- Megan Durbin, Greene County, and Nadia Fisher, Greene County

12:50 p.m. Girls 200 meter dash (P)-Olivia Hansen, Greene County

1:10 p.m. Boys 200 meter dash (P)- Max Neese, Greene County

2:20 p.m. Boys shuttle hurdle relay (P)- Greene County (Dylan McConnell, Joe Doran, Daric Whipple, Tyler Beger)

7:20 p.m. Boys 400 meter dash (F)- Jake Carey, Paton-Churdan
