After she’s done at the state track and field meet, West Central Valley’s now graduated speedster, Olivia McAtee, will join the softball team for one last high school athletic season. Though the Wildcat girls don’t aim to steal often, McAtee led them last year with 13 base swipes and head softball coach Ken Cox says she’ll likely be at it again this year, hitting from the leadoff spot. “She’ll be back and I know other teams are eyeing her. She’s got a target on her back when she goes to run. She is fast and is still learning the little nuances of base running.”
The West Central Valley softball team open their season with a home game against Woodward Granger on May 26th. First pitch scheduled for 6 p.m.
