As previously reported, a new organization in Guthrie Center will allow for regular jam sessions among the city’s musicians, beginning tonight. Founder Nancita Wernett says the Western Iowa Folk Alliance offers a non-threatening environment for musicians of any instrument and any skill level. “We’re gonna keep it simple. We’re going to sit in a circle and I’ll start playing. If you feel comfortable to accompany me, I’ll let you know the key I’m playing in and anyone is welcome to accompany. Then I’ll pass the tune around the circle and you can take the lead or pass the lead.”

The meeting begins tonight at 6:30 p.m. at the Guthrie Center Activity Center.
