The combined girls soccer team of West Central Valley, Nodaway Valley and Adair Casey has a record this season of 10-2. The only two blemishes were 0 to 1 losses; to Tri Center-Neola and Underwood, respectively. They’ve scored 49 goals to their opponents’ 7 and have won five straight matches where they’ve outscored opponents 22 to 2. Despite the incredible season the Valley girls are having, they are being shown no love the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union Class 1-A rankings. Rankings which include a 6-6 Davenport Assumption team, a 7-4 Columbus Catholic team and an 8-5 Union team. Valley girls head coach Mike Krawczyk says he doesn’t know how the IGHSAU comes up with their rankings, but at the end of the day, his team just worries about their own game. “I don’t exactly know how they come up with what they do, because there’s some teams that have a lot less record than us that are ranked. It is what it is, I guess. The girls will keep playing hard and our main goal is to make it to State.”
They Valley girls play again tonight when they head to Ballard to face a team with a 6-4 record.
