Everyone is invited to a meet and greet on Wednesday for the new Jefferson Matters: Main Street Program Director.
Peg Raney is the organization’s second program director following the resignation of Grand Junction resident Alan Robinson earlier this year due to family reasons. Raney is a Jefferson resident and Board President Jamie Daubendiek says he’s happy with their decision to have Raney as their new program director.
“Very excited for her. Peg’s (Raney) been very active in the community over the past couple of years and more recently. So she’ll be a great asset for the program and (I have) a lot of confidence that she’ll do a great job.”
Raney explains why she wanted to be the new program director for the non-profit organization.
“I am interested in our community and our (Greene) County. I’ve been interested as a volunteer for a lot of different organizations. The time is right for our community and I just got thinking, ‘I want to be a part of that.’”
Due to cold weather, the meet and greet will now be inside the Greene County Courthouse tomorrow from 5:15 to 6:30pm.
Raney started her new position on May 5th.
