The Dallas County Conservation Board is hosting a special program at the Forest Park Museum this weekend.
The “Plants Old and New: Discovering Plants that Work!” program will be presented by Iowa Garden Coach Anne Larson.
Museum Curator Pete Malmberg says Larson will teach attendees how to get the most out of their space and determine what the best mix of plants is.
“People don’t think of plants as having wars but they definitely do. This plant is dominating these plants over here, and how to divide them, and where to put this and where to put that. And of course how to plant for adult size, which very few people do really successfully. So come out and learn about the latest varieties, plus your old favorites.”
The program starts at 1:30pm Sunday and there is a $5 fee to attend. Registration is required. To reserve your spot, call 465-3577.
