With a Raccoon River Conference championship wrapped up, the Perry Bluejay soccer team will now turn their attention to a return visit to the capital city and the 2015 Boys State soccer tournament. Perry is currently 11-2 on the season and still has four games on the schedule before post season play opens up May 26th. Perry is 1 of 48 schools classified in Class 2A. Gary Overla’s squad has been assigned to Substate 2 which also includes Ballard, Cal Latimer, Dallas Center Grimes, Iowa Falls-Alden and Webster City. The Bluejays have defeated both Ballard and DCG this year but have not seen the remaining three squads. Webster City appears to be the biggest threat with a 12-4 record and boast victories over both Boone and Ballard from the Raccoon River Conference.
Perry will return to Dewey Field tonight for the conference finale against Carroll. Varsity kick-off is slated for 7:00 tonight. Substate pairings will be released early next week with sites and opponents.
