Greene County ExtensionAny parent, grand-parent or child care provider is invited to attend a youth building class at the Greene County ISU Extension office next week.

Extension Family Coordinator Sue Richardson says the “Every Child Counts: Building Community” workshop will focus on how to bring out nurturing and caring behaviors in children to create a community where youth can support each other.  The class will be taught by Extension Family Life Specialist Dr. David Brown.

Richardson talks about the importance of the program.

“The sharing of ideas and the two heads are better than one is a great thing.  We keep a list of all the child care providers in the area and if it’s something that’s of interest to them that they can sign up for these (classes).  So it is a great network and allows them to share ideas and information that will help children.”

It will be on Tuesday, May 19th from 6:30-8:30pm at the Extension office in Jefferson.

The cost for the class is $10 and registration is required by Monday, May 18th.  To sign up, log onto the Iowa Child Care Provider Training Registry by clicking HERE or by calling the Extension office at 386-2138.
