The Menlo and Casey Fire Department train rides will take place in less than a month. Menlo Fire Chief Ben Gilman says there will be three different trips between Menlo and Casey on vintage open-window coaches, beginning at 9 a.m. on June 6th. “What they’ll do is they’ll depart Menlo at 9:00 and they’ll run to Casey and arrive at about 9:30. They’ll layover in Casey a bit to use the facilities and stuff like that. And then they’ll load up in Casey to bring more people back. That first ride out of Casey will be at about 10:00.”
Additional rides out of Menlo are scheduled for 11 a.m. and 1:20 p.m. Tickets for a roundtrip train ride cost $14 for an adult and $7 for kids 12 and under. 75% of the profits will go to the Menlo and Casey Fire Departments. Tickets can be purchased from any Menlo or Casey firefighter, or can be bought in Menlo at Coon Valley Telephone Office, and in Casey at Linda’s Hair Hut, Casey Mutual Telephone Office and Rolling Hills Bank and Trust.
